Founder of Collapsed Church in Uyo May Have His Leg Amputated, Governor Udom Orders Arrest of Contractor

According to Facebook page Ibommobile News, the founder of the Uyo collapsed church, Apostle Akan Weeks, which claimed many lives, may have his leg amputated.

Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel has ordered the arrest of the contractor of the collapsed Reigners Bible Church in Akwa Ibom state.

A high-powered panel of inquiry has been set up to establish the immediate and remote causes leading to the collapse of the building with a view of preventing the recurrence of such a tragic incident and bring to book persons found guilty to have compromised professional standards in the construction of the building.

Governor Udom has also has declared Sunday and Monday two days of mourning for victims of the church building collapse.

The 2-day mourning period will be rounded off with a Solemn Assembly at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Uyo on Monday December 12, 2016 by prompt.
The State Government will also bear the medical cost of all those injured as we have never had such a shocking incident in the history of our dear state.
The Governor urges all citizens and friends of the state to continue to pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in this incident.
