Suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked Ogege community in the Okpale-Ingle ward of Edumoga, Okpokwu local government area of Benue State, beheading one person in the attack, Daily Post reports.
Ogege is a neighboring village to Amufu Ai-ejeba, the country home of popular singer, Tuface Idibia.
It was learnt that the heavily armed gunmen attacked the area on Monday evening, butchering residents and in the process cutting off the head of a man.
The development had since forced residents of the area to flee their homes.
However, when news men contacted the state’s police spokesman, Moses Yamu on Tuesday, he declared that he wasn’t aware of the attack.
“I am not aware of any attack in the area but I will call you back once I find out,” he said.
This attack is coming barely two months after the local government experienced a heavy bloodbath in Okpoga.
In a recent development, suspected Fulani herdsmen have also carried out an attack on Catholic Reverend Fathers in Enugu state, abducting one in the process. One of the Reverend Fathers was shot in the head but miraculously survived the assault.
