Nigerian-born England and Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has moved his best friend into his home as a thank you for his family taking him in during his tough childhood.
The 20 year old Spurs star, whose full name is Bamidele Jermaine, was sent to live with school friend Harry Hickford’s parents when he was 13 after his English mother Denise gave him away to save him from gangs and let him chase his football dream as she fought alcoholism.
Dele and Harry, a defender at National League team Forest Green Rovers, now see each other as brothers.
Source close to Dele wanted him to move in to the £2million Hertfordshire mansion to give something back to the family he owes so much to, saying:
“Dele’s got a huge house; it made sense for Harry to move in. They’re brothers and best friends, it’s the least he can do.”
