The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, his wife Olori Wuraola and members of his entourage yesterday, 21st June visited the Smithsonian Museum of African Art, in Washington DC.
The Shango worshippers on the Ooni’s delegation performed a traditional rite that involved fire and smoke. The US Fire Service were alerted and they instantly responded by arriving at the scene.
The firefighters stood their ground and refuse to leave after an explanation on what was actually going on was given. They hung around to observe and prevent any fire incident from occurring.
