Some of the promotional activities which Tekno was required to partake in, were photoshoots, interviews and pre-award publicity.
The letter which was addressed to Tekno’s record label, read in part:
“Kindly consider this a follow up to our earlier letter sent to you on December 15, 2016.
“Tekno has unfortunately not made himself available for any of the mandatory activities, hence the committee’s decision to effectively withdraw his nomination for this year.
“As communicated in our last letter to you, the window of participation officially closed on Friday, December 16.”
Owing to Tekno’s disqualification, Ycee, Aramide, Humblesmith and Mr. Eazi will square up to each other for the Next Rated category.
